Arkansas became the 25th of the 50 United States on June 15, 1836. Since the 1830's, the spot known as Hot Springs National Park has bathed notables such as Franklin D. Roosevelt, Babe Ruth, and Al Capone. The park is entirely surrounded by the city of Hot Springs, the childhood home of former President Bill Clinton. Wal-mart was founded in Bentonville, Arkansas by Sam Walton.
